MATERIALS We Can Engrave
Fabric Laser Engraving
Fabric Laser Engraving

FAQs
Most fabrics are suitable for engraving. Fabrics such as microfiber, polyester, felt, cotton, fleece, and denim tend to give excellent engraving results. Try to avoid loose knitted fabrics as these are prone to scorching.
Most fabrics will darken after engraving. However, for some fabrics such as denim, laser engraving removes the top layer material to reveal the undyed cotton inside, thus creating a lighter coloured engraving instead.
Laser engraving either removes or melts the top layer of material, depending on the fabric type. If your fabric is too thin, the laser might engrave all the way through your fabric. Most standard fabrics are thick enough for engraving. However, try to avoid using loose knitted sheer fabrics.
Leather Laser Engraving
Leather Laser Engraving

FAQs
Laser engraving will burn off a portion of leather from the top surface. The engraved area will be recessed, with the colour in a shade of dark brown/black.
The results are similar in that both processes create a recessed depth in the leather. The difference is that laser engraving darkens the colour of the leather, while debossing does not.
Foam Laser Engraving
Foam Laser Engraving

FAQs
The engraved area will be recessed and darkened in relation to the surrounding area. Due to the heat from engraving, the pores in the foam will also be sealed.
Most suitable foam types can be engraved as deep as 2.5cm. However, the quality of the engraving drops as you engrave deeper. For optimal results, we recommend engraving not more 5mm deep.
Wood Laser Engraving
Wood Laser Engraving

FAQs
Almost all woods can be engraved. These include solid wood, plywood, MDF, veneers, and laminates.
All types of wood will be recessed and darkened after laser engraving. Solid woods and plywoods can be engraved lightly enough to preserve the look of the grain even after engraving. MDF will give a consistent brown finish after engraving.
Depending on how deep the stain has absorbed into the wood, the engraved area will either be a similar colour to the stain, or revert to the original colour of the wood.
Yes it can. However, this would affect the depth of engraving. Areas with knots will have shallower engraving compared to areas without.
Both laser engraving and hot stamping will create a charred area on the wood. Laser engraving removes material and creates depth in the wood, while hot stamping only affects the top surface.
The depth will depend on the wood type and density. Lower density woods can be engraved deeper. For optimal results, we recommend engraving not more 5mm deep.
Acrylic Laser Engraving
Acrylic Laser Engraving

FAQs
Laser engraved portions are recessed inwards. Casted acrylic will have a frosted look after engraving. If your acrylic is coloured, the engraving will be a lighter frosted colour. Extruded acrylic remains the same colour after engraving. If you are unsure of the type of acrylic you have, most acrylic sheets sold tend to be casted.
Acrylic can be engraved as deep as 2.5cm. However, the quality of the engraving drops as you engrave deeper. For optimal results, we recommend engraving not more 5mm deep.
The outcome for both processes are very similar. Both removes material and creates a frosted result. Sandblasting is better suited for frosting large surfaces on acrylic.
Glass Laser Engraving
Glass Laser Engraving

FAQs
Glass will have a frosted textured look after engraving. The laser does not remove any material when engraving.
Flat sheets of glass can be engraved. Bottles, Wine/whiskey/shot glasses, and decanters can also be engraved.
Laser engraving on glass does not remove any material, hence there will not be any depth.
Laser engraving generates significant heat and can cause glass with thin walls to crack. We recommend only engraving on glassware with a wall thickness of at least 2mm.
Sandblasting creates a matte, consistent frosted result, while laser engraving produces a textured frosted result. Sandblasting will remove material from the surface of the glass, while laser engraving does not remove any material.
Certain types of crystal materials can be engraved. Please enquire with us for more details.
Metal Laser Engraving
Metal Laser Engraving

FAQs
We can engrave most metals. A non-exhaustive list includes stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, brass, copper, nickel, silver, and gold.
For most metals, the engraving will have a silver-white finish. Some metals can also be engraved to a black finish, such as stainless steel.
For stainless steel, we can go up to 0.2mm deep. Please note that deep engraving costs significantly more than regular engraving due to the time taken.
Yes we can, however some jewellery have certain platings that do not allow for laser engraving. Please check with your jewellery supplier beforehand.
Yes we can. The laser will remove the powder coating to reveal the bare metal underneath.
Yes we can. The laser will remove the anodized layer to reveal the bare aluminium underneath.
This would vary from item to item. If it is a shallow surface engraving, it may be possible to remove or mostly fade it away. If the engraving is 0.2mm or deeper, it may not be easily removable by laser.
Stone Laser Engraving
Stone Laser Engraving

FAQs
We can engrave on most stone types. However, if your stone has been treated with certain substances beforehand, this might affect the viability or quality of engraving.
Most stones typically give a white frosted finish.
This depends on your stone type. Some can only give a surface level engraving, while others can go as deep as a few mm. We recommend bringing some samples for testing prior to the actual engraving.
